Spadefoot toads get their name from the hard spade-shaped keratinous protrusions located on their hind feet. They use these protrusions to dig backwards into the ground. They must love digging because they only come up out of the soil for eating and mating. Their’s is a simple life. The title for this sculpture is from a song by the band Half Japanese, “Kiss Me Like a Frog…make my dreams come true”. You know, I’d like to meet someone who kisses like a frog.
I’d love to hear from you…
